Warren Zaire-Emery, the star player for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), will be out till the new year owing to an ankle injury received during his debut for the French national team.

Zaire-Emery, a 17-year-old midfielder, was forced to leave the field during the first half of Friday’s Euro 2024 qualifying encounter against Gibraltar. Despite scoring in his maiden international game, he was forced to be replaced due to injury.
As a result of this setback, Zaire-Emery will miss two crucial Champions League matches against Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund, as well as multiple Ligue 1 contests.
PSG’s final league game before the break will be on December 20 against Metz. Following the mid-season break, the club will start their season with the French Cup on the weekend of January 6-7.
“Having suffered a strain of an average severity to his right ankle, Warren Zaire-Emery will continue to undergo treatment until the winter break,” the club announced in a statement.
This season, Zaire-Emery has appeared in 15 matches for PSG. He has two goals and five assists in all competitions for Ligue 1’s leading squad.
He will also miss France’s forthcoming qualifying match against Greece on Tuesday. It is worth noting that the World Cup champions of 2018 have already secured their berth in Germany for the following year.
